Projections, why?

     You may think that this little blurb Is going to be about psychology and projecting ones own wants or fears on someone or something else. Then perceiving it as a genuine responce produced from them alone or it alone Etc. When really it's more or less mirroring your own thoughts and feelings on it or them.

     Actually this is about something much more Insidious, futile, and inaccurate. This is about making projections on the future for either financial, environmental, e or business reasons. And in some cases trying to predict the human behavior without having a Google level of data collection infecting everybody's life. So many man hours and resources are wasted doing projections. The only thing that I can predict with near certainty is that it will not turn out as projected. 

     The business will not take in most likely anywhere near what they make some poor bastard sit down and project it to make while trying to apply for financing. Further trying to guess at what some dirt road out in the middle of BFE is going to experience for traffic and road erosion. While having no idea why the roads even there to begin with. Knowing nothing other than it leads to a dead end where apparently teenagers like the drink beer and leave all the beer cans everywhere and burn the only piece of wood within a hundred miles. 

     Doing this particular projection is (un)necessary and forced upon me by the various bureaucracies. Staffed with people who have no idea if I completely fabricate or if I actually applied real math to my "projected" answers. Almost everybody in the bureaucracy has a solid 5th grade math level. They wouldn't be able to calculate a flow rate, fluid friction, or thermal effect on anything. And for this blog more importantly they also could not predict the long-term weather patterns and precipitation amount on a 10-100 year timeline. It is scary that they think it's possible and worse they mandate it.  You all get to pay for it. You get to pay for their vacation time, their medical insurance, their paycheck, and their retirement pension. These persons that you paid to be knowledgeable oversight. They actually think it is in fact possible to predict rainfall or water based erosion on a 10-100 year timeline. An entire agency that literally couldn't do pythagoreans theorem to see if their kids' Tree House is square. Or know why. 

    Projections are dumb we can do what we can to prevent the outcome that is not desired. As I have observed and from reading and even a couple college degrees. It is impossible to predict or dictate the weather for a 10-100 year yes at precipitation with any accuracy whatsoever. Nor can I predict teenagers spot of choice for a kegger. 

     You can't predict if your new Froyo place is going to make $100,000 a month or $18. And on and on and on. You could do things to try to affect the desirable outcome. But ultimately whatever the projection says won't be the outcome. I'm almost certain this is is 100% across the board is the only predictable, projectable reality.

     So I am begging pleading for mercy to all government agencies, regulatory, oversight, enforcement and to all financial institutions, loan officers, small business planning, Etc.. please pull your head out of your ass. Demanding some sort of psychic level future prediction is cruel and unusual. I could totally spend that time to Greater effect and enjoyment of life. 

    I personally would rather to be fishing, or hunting, or really anything else. Up to and including hitting my nutsack with the fucking pipe wrench to the tune of Old MacDonald Had a Farm. All of those examples would be more productive, humane, and enjoyable than filling out and writing mandated projections.
