I got to go to my first game in nearly a decade (last time would have been the very start of 2017) today.
I was really excited and had a really good time. We went as neutral fans because even though it was our local team, we have a weird relationship with them (hence why we've not been to a game in so long) but my cousin and I have been really into hockey again for the past few years, specifically the NHL, but hockey's hockey, so it was really great to be able to go to a game.
The moment I heard the first puck go off the glass during warm ups, it just felt right being there and going back. It went to overtime after the home team going down 4-1 and scoring 2 times in the last minute, which was really fun and meant more hockey. It was also the largest game I've ever been to (4000-5000 people) and it was louder than we expected because the arena they play in is massive but not all open. It was also weirdly comforting the feeling of being really cold and tired afterwards because it reminded me of when we used to go. They were some slightly negative/weird parts but explaining them would require me to go into my family life and our history with the team, which I'm not doing tonight XD
But overall, it was really good and we're definitely going again :D
