a guide to staying active of friendrewind/indie web.

sooooo ive noticed how many people are inactive here or they barely post or their barely online, and i wanted to make this guide on how to stay on here and make this your next main social media platform :)

so i think the best way to start is PLEASE LEARN BASIC CODING, now this isnt that big of a deal if your on mobile because coding on mobile IS A PAIN IN THE ASSSS, but please learn to code your profiles it makes them more "yours" than using a layout and its also really fun youll find yourself wanting to learn more and add more things and explore your possibilities XP

next you should post bulletins and blogs near daily BUT KNOW THE DIFFERENCE AND HOW TO USE THEM, blogs are for telling the public stuff like rants, questions, stories, art, or connecting with your community, they are not for intros (theres a whole introduction tab on the forums), "im bored" posts, or you telling us how depressed you are, or you wanting to find a relationship, all of that can be over in the forums or in your bulletins.

DONT BE AFRAID TO COMMENT, meaning comment on almost everything you read or watch if you can even think of the slightest thing to say, say it, it keeps the community active by seeing their stuff get comments and it keeps you active bc you most likely get replies.

DONT CARE ABT MAKING FRIENDS IN THE START, you shouldnt be so worried abt making alot of friends or gaining popularity if you stay active that will come but most the people your meeting are new people that will leave in a week, pick your friends wisely ask yourself if you think they will be active? do they have alot of friends bc they just spam friend request everyone? DO THEY SPAM BULLETINS OVER STUPID BULLSHIT NONSTOP? then you can decide to friend that person, the reason i say this is bc when you see your friends becoming less active your going to want to be to bc if you dont follow the second step your not going to be getting new friend request or really finding anyone.

KEEP UP WITH THE UPDATES, theres not many here but the ones that are they seem to be very big improvements or additions to this site and its always fun trying to be the first one to really understand the new feature XD

SAY HAPPY BIRTHDAY, that birthday tab is there for a reason, it makes me log in everyday to say happy birthday to the people, most of the time their offline and inactive but when you get one that responds it feels so nice XP and itll make people want to say happy birthday to you when you show up XD

EXPLORE EVERYTHING, every tab you see, every group that interest you, blog/forum post that seem boring, EXPLORE IT, COMMENT ON IT, ENJOY WHAT THIS SITE HAS TO OFFER BEFORE ONE DAY ITS JUST A MEMORY.

i will most likely keep adding to this as i think of more stuff but i think this is a pretty good start to understanding this website ALSO INTERACT WITH YOUR FRIENDS STUFF MORE THAN ANYTHING.
