Do you ever have so much on your mind that you "need" to talk, but it's just so much that you can't? Once you start trying to work thru it on your own, it's almost like a snowball rolling down a hill collecting more and more snow as it goes?!
I'm pretty good at working thru things. I've learned to give myself grace and to allow emotions to flow. I can take a step back from my emotions and observe them as I release. I observe my thoughts. It definitely helps. None of it is anything bad or major. Just lots of little things that matter, but aren't horrible.
People always tell me I'm the strongest person they know. In some ways, that really is a compliment. At the same time, sometimes I don't want to have to be strong. Sometimes I want to be able to be soft and "crumble apart" and know I'm not only still loved but that I'm also supported. I've had to be strong. I've had to carry myself thru so much, which is fine. It's part of my experience. From a higher perspective, I get it. From the emotional perspective, sometimes I just need those reaffirming hugs or something. But, it's really just me. (And my teenagers, but I can't put that on them, ya know)
Sometimes I wish I had parents or family.
I don't mean to sound so gloomy and somber. Ultimately, it really isn't anything bad.
I was originally going to get on here and talk about some of the stuff, but it seems like I've danced around it. I've typed some but then I erase it.
I guess I'll just leave with this: if you have someone in your life that is really strong and seems to get thru anything and everything on their own (at least for the most part), please make sure they know that if they aren't so strong sometimes they are still loved and supported! Even if you don't have any answers to help them, sometimes we don't need anyone to give us the answers or solve the problems for us. Sitting with us is such a underrated thing!! Just be there and sit with them. I don't think people realize how much THAT alone makes a difference.
Just sitting next to someone, being able to let my guard down, and rest my head on their shoulder feels like it would be the biggest hug. Not having to figure it all out for a little while. Not worrying about being strong for myself and everyone else. Just - to be - to breathe - to exist -
