I love when people know what they’re talking about. Just kidding.
(•˕ •マⳊComplaint number one. There are so many people on the internet who know exactly what’s up. “This is the exact reason for this.” They say. I mean, is it? Is it really? I think there are probably 400 reasons for anything at any given moment. I understand it could seem like this. But it could actually be that, and this, and that over there, and six other things we haven’t even considered.
Ridiculous amounts of things have to come together for anything to happen. Then some guy on the internet is slamming his desk, telling me, “This is what it means. This is exactly what it is.” Unbelievable.
(•˕ •マⳊComplaint number two. (≽^- ˕ -^≼Power complaint. )It’s unbelievable when somebody wants me to judge another person’s heart. They tell me someone is doing something, and I look and say, “They’re not doing that.” Then they say, “Well, in their heart, they want to.” What? I have to judge people by what’s happening. What are they doing? What are their actions? I’m not going to judge somebody for what you imagine they think in their heart.
Then you get, “You know it’s true, dude. You know that’s what they want.” I don’t know that. You don’t know that. That’s the whole problem. Don’t lump people into these big groups. Everybody gets judged on their individual merit, man. You can’t just slap everybody into the same group and go, “See, guys? I’m right.” Oh boy.
And even if you’re right, maybe you’re right about this one particular aspect for the next 25 minutes. Maybe you’re right for years. Then three and a half years pass, things change, and you’re just not right anymore. But you’re still riding on it. Riding on your nonsense.
I need something new. I’ve been hearing the same explanation for at least 20 years. No, longer. Thirty years. “People think they can get rich, but they can’t. It’s an illusion, so they worship rich people. They think if they work hard, do the right things, and climb the ladder, they’ll get that lifestyle too.”
Who the fuck thinks this? I walk around, live my life, talk to people, and I haven’t met anybody who tells me this is what they believe. But some people on the internet are very sure everybody believes it. Some absolutist is yelling, “You’re never going to be rich! So why do you even like them?” And I’m thinking, “Who? What are you talking about?”
It’s a trope. Where do these things come from? Does somebody hand them out? I’ve been hearing this fucking line for 30 years. Is there anything new? Seriously. I need something new. Dang it. Anything?
(•˕ •マⳊComplaint number three. I know all the answers to all the problems. That’s the complaint. I know the questions, and I know the answers I’m going to get. I want some different ones. There have to be different ones. We just established there are 400 answers to anything.
So I keep asking the question. Most of the time, I get the same answer. But sometimes(≽^• ˕ • ྀི≼⋆🐾°anti-complaint!) a beam of light comes in. Somebody gives me a new answer to the same old question, and I think, “A legitimate new way to look at this problem. It's rare, and I appreciate it a lot."
