Not exactly the most obscure of bands, but I've only ever listened to So Wrong, It's Right. This album still has the classic All Time Low vibe from what I've heard but you can tell their style was evolving a bit with songs like "Too Much" sounding more pop than pop punk, not that this is a bad thing.

I was surprised by Weightless, because I've heard this song around but never realised it was actually All Time Low that wrote it. Overall the album was very easy to listen to and had a good mix of vibes.

Favourite Songs: Break Your Little Heart, Lost In Stereo, Therapy, Weightless

Andy Black really has his own style here in comparison to Black Veil Brides. It's definitely much more of a pop-rock (or pop and also rock) album than something more hardcore.

All of the songs are very well written, and although this isn't usually my type of music I can appreciate his vision for this album and the story told in the music. It's a concept album, with an accompanying comic book under the same name, I'd say it's worth listening to at least once to form your own opinion.

Favourite Songs: The Promise, Heaven, The Martyr

This was actually recommended to me by a friend. Their sound is unique, they are a 90s indie rock or just alt rock band, but they also have some 70s/80s type vibe in their songs. The lyrics are weird, often with a slight humour to them, but there is still a message in every song.

While having an almost grungy feel to the guitar parts, most of the songs have a softer vibe, listening to them feels like smoking a joint and zoning out on the couch in the best way possible. It's hard not to put every song in the favourite section.

Favourite Songs: Raspberry, I Am the Cancer, Take It In, Sugartune

This album was is interesting. It has a very punk sound, and is clearly trying to push a message. Multiple messages in fact. I think it's a great album, but it's juggling so many social and political issues that it doesn't have much consistency.

Having said that though, it's something I would listen to more than just this once just because the music itself is great.

Favourite Songs: Who Needs Language, When There's Eye Contact, R.O.T

The next album by Gouge Away has a much more grunge feel than a punk feel. It reminds me of PJ Harvey in a way. The album also has a shift in the message it is trying to send. Rather than focussing on a mass of political issues, it focuses almost entirely on mental health struggles. A lot of it is relatable, but it also seems like these are all issues coming from the songwriters heart.

It's clear the Gouge Away are finding more of a stable footing with this album compared to their first one.
