I honestly hate alternative elitists. I will not lie, I have said some bands aren't "Real ___". Like I personally don't consider Sleep Token real metal. though I listen to nu metal and metalcore, commonly hated metal bands, called "posers" and "gay" (if those are even insults to be honest).

I feel that what makes an alternative band an alternative band is that they defy the mainstream. they challenge the genre- they challenge what makes alternative alternative. Though when people are like "that isn't real alternative" as long as they make people mad, and think they are posers I think its pretty valid then.
