When I was 13 or 14, I was hanging around with one of my friends in churchyard, goofing around and chasing their chickens. One got mad af and started going for me and pecking me and I was chicken and ran away whilst looking back at the pecking chicken. I ran towards the gate and did a somersault over it and presumably landed badly and hit my head on the asphalt on the other side of it. I remember being in a dark place. No memory of how I got there. No memory of very much. I knew who I was and that I could speak English in my thoughts. There was nothing. No light. No gravity. I wasn't aware that I had a body, however I was aware of being in a certain orientation, with up and down. I was like a point of consciousness. I wondered where I was. I felt slightly warm and at peace. It felt really great. Amazing. I was not worried or scared. I was just hovering or suspended in a black void. This went on for what felt like 10 seconds. Then I came to, that took about 1 second, and I felt a lot of pain on my head and in my body and had a mild concussion and some cuts, scrapes and bruises. My friend was close by looking at me and I asked him what happened. Somehow I thought he knew I was in the dark place all alone but obviously he didn't. I was like damn, can't I go back to that other place it was much better than this pain. Apparently it is unusual to have any consciousness whilst blacked out, hence the name 'unconscious'. A friend tells me he can achieve a similar state but within a dream, if he tries meditating in the dream (i.e. becomes lucid in the dream).
