I'm transgender, and every now and then my close friends call me the *yk* T-slur. It hurts sometimes, even though i'm not usually sensitive to words. They're not transphobic or anything. We respect other boundaries, but there doesn't seem to be one for them RESPECTING my gender and not always talking about how im trans. I want to be seen as a boy, not someone pretending to be one. That includes being dimmed down to a slur. Am i in the wrong for being too sensitive in my no filter friendgroup or should i tell them how i feel?Â

that doesn't sound sensitive at all to me, in my experience good friends are understanding when there's a word that is grating for you--especially if it is a slur you don't want to reclaim, but even if it's a more "normal" word. i don't like the word "b*tch" because i feel it's too easy to use it in a truly harmful/derogatory (especially sexist) way, and i told my friends, and they don't use it around me anymore. a healthy relationship comes with respect, even if your friend group is "no-filter". i hope your friends can be chill and understanding, and a bit more gender-affirming for you
