anime recs, give me them (rah)

i have asked this question of multiple friends and family but being me i like to annoy people with questions. whoever stumbles upon this, give me some anime recommendations.

if you need some pointers: the stuff i've watched includes some of the ghibli stuff, some of digimon. my brother showed me dragon ball z abridged and that was alright but maybe not necessarily an anime. i really really like lucky star, that's probably my favorite at the moment. basically i'll dig anything that is either slice of life with cute girls, or anything that is just dead straight insane. like i will watch whatever if it is intriguing or humorous enough. humour is also a good pointer especially if it's at times uncomfortable. i do know i should probably watch panty and stocking at some point, and some of the old gainax stuff like flcl.

it doesn't need to have a dub, just good subs. i only really watch dubs if there's a specific reason (usually if it's 35+ years old, but really i don't care)
