Arancini are a typical Sicilian food. My grandma once show me how to cook them and is quite easy, so here is how:
WARNING: I’m celiac so this doesn’t have any wheat, although if you don’t want to then just use normal ingredients.
First you’re going to need:
-Rice
-Breading or breadcrumbs
-Cream cheese
-Minced meat
-Eggs
-And sauce (you can just buy some if you want to)
First of all you must prepare the rice.
Turn on the stove burner and put a pot on it. Fill it with some water and then goes the rice. Just let it like for 10 minutes and that’s it.
Next thing you gotta do is cook the minced meat. Using a frying pan and removing it with a wooden spoon. Don’t forget to add some condiments for better taste! Then add the sauce.
Now is time to prepare everything: Grab five bowls, one for the meat, other for the cheese (that must be already cut in little cubes), then other for the rice (let it rest for a while so you don’t get yourself burn), another for the breading or breadcrumbs and the last one is for the eggs (you must beat them first).
Tip: If you want to make sure the eggs are not rotten then put them in a glass of water and if it floats then don’t use it! It’s probably rotten!
And finally just put all ingredients together!
Grab the rice with your hands and make a little ball (if it pastes then soak your hands in water), make a hole in it and put the meat and cheese, then close it and soak the ball in the egg, once you do that pass it throw the breading or breadcrumbs. Repeat it as so many times as needed.
Now that you finish boil them in oil and that’s it!
