ASSASSIN'S CREED II IS ACTUALLY EVERYTHING

Like, I started playing thinking I would just play for a little while and then do something else, but somehow suddenly it was hours later and I was still running around Italy as Ezio like I had personally been recruited into some secret assassin organization.

The game is SO COOL.

I mean, the whole Renaissance setting is amazing. The cities, the buildings, the music, the whole atmosphere... everything feels so much more interesting than just running around some boring modern city. I can climb buildings, jump across rooftops, sneak around, and basically cause complete chaos while pretending I am being stealthy.

Which I am not.

I have probably been detected approximately a million times.

Ezio will be standing on a roof looking completely cool and mysterious and then two seconds later I accidentally run straight into a group of guards and suddenly everyone is trying to kill me.

10/10 experience.

Also, the climbing is probably my favorite thing. I don't even need to be doing a mission. I can just spend forever running across rooftops and jumping around because apparently walking on the ground is no longer good enough for me.

Why would I use the streets like a normal person when I can climb a giant tower and jump off of it?

The game also has so many little things to do that I keep getting distracted from the actual story.

I'll start a mission.

Then I'll see a viewpoint.

Then I'll climb the viewpoint.

Then I'll see a treasure chest.

Then I'll get distracted by another building.

Then I'll accidentally start a fight.

Then I'll run away.

Then I'll forget what I was originally doing.

This game is basically a very expensive way to make me completely incapable of following directions.

And Ezio is such a cool character. He has the whole mysterious, dramatic, tragic thing going on, which obviously means I like him.

I also really like how the game makes you feel like you're becoming better and stronger as you play. At the beginning, you're just trying to survive, and then eventually you're running around rooftops like you own the entire city.

I wish I could do that in real life.

I would be so much more productive if I could just climb up the side of a building instead of taking the stairs.

Anyway, I have spent the entire day playing this game and I probably should do something else now.

But I probably won't.

Because I still have things to unlock.

And missions to complete.

And rooftops to climb.

And guards to accidentally annoy.

So if anyone needs me, I will be busy being an assassin.

Or at least attempting to be one.
