so, I'm getting tested for autism on the 13th of October this year, and I'm scared on how it'll go.... I have no idea on how the assessment works here in Italy, and I'm afraid that looking it up will somewhat influence the way I'll answer their questions.
also, and this is just something that mildly annoys me, my mother keeps bringing it up where it doesn't belong.
for example, today she was telling me that I need to go to school and then the randomly said:
"it's because you think you're autistic? autistic people go go school as well"
yeah no shit mom, thanks, I had no idea.
why does she think every single thing that goes wrong with me now is because I'm "fixated on being autistic"?
I wish I never brought it up and just waited until I became independent to get tested.

Bro, this happened to me too. My mom supported me but the moment I was not being like how she wanted to be?? The moment I was showing actual autism symptoms?? Suddenly I wasn't autistic anymore and I had to stop acting like it. Thankfully she's changed ever since I got my diagnosis. Also I promise its worth it to get the autism diagnosis now, I heard that its WAYYY harder when you're an adult.
I'm happy to see someone relating to me^^ and I'm glad your mother changed!!
yes I agree that I should get a diagnosis now, I'm really scared but I know it'll be worth it in the long run, I just hope her attitude will change afterwards too
