Autumn is making people yearn (me too)

Fall is the season of love and settling down for the winter, yeah? So everyone around this time gets hit with a wave of misery about being single.

I think we're all subconsciously aware that the yearning for romance as a lifes purpose is a mass hysteria perpetuated by a misogynistic society and popular culture, but that doesn't actually help when it comes to the feeling of loneliness.

Romance is the last thing I need right now. I have tons of incredibly close and loving platonic and familial relationships and my main priority right now is learning to cope with my mental health and learning to do things I'm interested in. Romance was never and never will be a priority for me. EVEN SO, when the days get shorter and the air gets colder part of me gets sick thinking about being romantically alone.

Don't get me wrong, romance would be nice in my life, but usually I don't need it. So why does it feel like I'll die without it during the holiday season?

I know it isn't just me either. Scrolling through recent blogs over the past hour I've seen eight or nine posts talking simply about being sad as a single person or asking how their peers are managing to be in relationships. Luckily I'm blessed with lots of experience and wisdom so I have less questions to ask about why I'M single and more questions to ask about why everyone hates being single so much.

So why is the season of love so conductive to artificial loneliness?

If anyone has their 2 cents on this please let me know, I'm interested to hear theories as to why this happens or others experiences during the season!

Hm, I don't know to be honest.....

And honestly I don't really need any relationship partner especially during the Holiday Season either and to be honest I don't see that being a huge part of Holiday Season.

I could still enjoy December on my own.

But yeah, I don't really have any answers on that one either.
