just finished up at a rehearsal with my band, we have some time in a recording studio booked this week so wet up to just tighten up since we hadn't seen each other since the last gig we did so we started by catching up on how our lives had been for the last week and a bit. we got to practicing the three songs we're looking to record this week and everything was going so well so far...

We decided we should record a small demo so that we can show the engineer at the studio what the song should end up like and by "we" they meant me so i had to set up a microphone to capture the room sound, organise the interface to go into the DAW and set the levels so that everything can be evenly heard on the recording. we recorded each song one by one, making sure to save each project. by the time we had finished up we packed up and the drummer had left the building in a rush to get to his job. i looked at the files and tried to email them to myself but something was wrong...
All the project files were there and accounted for... but the audio files within them WERE GONE!!! you could see the space they took up and how ling they were, you could even see how many takes it took to try recording to finally get to the take we liked. it was horrible! we couldnt do it again, the drummer had left and the singer had blown his voice out too, not to mention our booked time at the rehearsal space was ending soon. i must have done something wrong, I have no clue what though...

Thanks for reading, hope the actual recording won't go that badly...
