I so don't understand how can ANYONE WITH A WORKING BRAIN EVER CONSIDER BEAR THE VICTIME and there's multiple indicator of that such as :
- The way he worded his wish, i mean i get the whole "well he didn't know that the wish willow was real" okay???? DOES THAT MEAN IT'S OKAY TO WISH TO STRIP DOWN A HUMAN BEING FOR IT'S WHOLE AUTONOMY AND CONSENT ?????
- After they went out drinking, Bear made his wish right? Right after that Nikki starts acting weird inviting him to her house then telling the story about her dad- BEAR LITERALLY POINTS OUT THE FACT THAT SHE MIGHT BE DRUNK- she snap back and kinda leans into the fact that she might be drunk AND HE STILL BRINGS HER HOME AND STILL KISS HER EVEN WITH THE PROBABILITY THAT SHE MIGHT BE DRUNK
- After that whole scene, he thinks about the wish and go search about it, AT THIS POINT BEAR ALREADY KNOWS THAT THE WISH WORKED BUT HE GASHLIGHT HIMSELF THAT IT'S "IMPOSSIBLE" CAUSE THAT WOULD ALREADY BE AN INDACATOR THAT HE IS THE VILAIN IN HIS OWN EYES
- Ian tells Bear that Nikki might have relapsed and that she's acting weird because she is under the influence of d**gs AND BEAR STILL RECIPROCATE NIKKI'S FLIRTS FULLY KNOWING THAT SHE IS VULNERABLE BECAUSE OF THE DR**S
- Then there's the "s3x" ("gr4p3" would be a better wording) scene where BEAR DOESN'T EVEN LOOK AT NIKKI WHICH IS A HUGE MEANING of his "feelings" toward Nikki cause you can understand that HE NEVER CARED ABOUT HER FEELINGS in the first place! HE ONLY CARED ABOUT HIS OWN- IF HE ONLY LOOKED AT HER AT THIS MOMENT HE'D SEE THAT SHE HAS FAKING IT, SHE WAS SAD,SHE WAS REALISING THAT IT WASN'T HER OWN DOINGS.
That scene broke me cause you could see the sadness of real Nikki understanding that she is being ROBBED of her being and autonomy...
So mind you all of this was "before he knew the one wish willow worked" and he was still "acting like the villain" so at what point a MAN have to be a disgusting human being for everyone to finally point fingers at him and "agree" to finally scream VILLAIN at him, cause with everything iv'e just wrote when should i start considering Bear as the villain if not at the beggining when there was a probability that Nikki was intoxicated when he took adventage of her ?

and the fact that when he called the number he didn't want to cancel the wish first he wanted to ALTER IT. like after all that he still wanted her to have feelings for him even though he knew that it took away nikki's autonomy.
LITERALLY, he NEVER was in love of Nikki, he liked the IDEA of Nikki but the moment he understood that he couldn't control wish Nikki his solution wasn't to free her, it was to still keep her with him FULLY KNOWING THAT IT WASN'T REALLY HER but since she had her physical it was "okay" it breaks my heart of Nikki cause no one will believe her she is destined to be in jail for the rest of her life or in a mental hospital

it's not fair that nikki will have to suffer for bear's actions. it's so disgusting that he was able to get off fine with it and not her.

Bear simply does not care, he had so many chances to spare Nikki and yet didn't, he also came to know that Sarah liked him even if he was screwing around with Nikki and yet continued to dwell into his own delusions and deal with what ever possessed Nikki.
Funny enough, whatever possessed Nikki didn't even like Bear romantically (in my own opinion).
This movie just shows the consequences of a man that a woman has to unwillingly deal with in the end without the man taking any accountability as well as how much a goof he was for not handelling rejection nor being able to tell his feelings to Nikki in the first place.
I too dont understand the take that Bear was a victim.
What pissed me off is that SHE LITERALLY ASK HIM IF HE LIKED HER IN THE BEGGING and the only moment were you could kinda see BEAR finally "reciprocate" Wish Nikki's "feelings" is at the very end when she made a wish (imo she wished Bear would love her as much as she does)

That’s the funny part, never really thought her wish was purely thought out like Bears, felt almost like she was mocking him.

because in was she was, Bear played in her face the moment he dodged the question about him liking her.
IMO Nikki still has a was cause it was the entity that possessed Nikki who made that wish and not real nikki so if she found the other willow wish Bear bought (cause he brought 2 willow wishes one that he tried to break himself in the car that is that same one Ian used, and so there's another one laying around somewhere and i feel like all the other movies from Curry will lead to another movie with Nikki at the end) so technically Nikki still do have a wish.
Also, what breaks me the most is that no one will ever believe Nikki, she is doomed to be in jail or in a mental hospital, that REAL NIKKI SAW AND FELT EVERYTHING HAPPENING TO HER, she tried to break free from the spell so many times and everytime she was injured she is a brave and courageous woman cause it hurted her so much but she really really tried to free herself....
Bear died WAY TOO PEACEFULLY FOR WHAT HE DID

What you mentioned in the end is true! He should be the one dealing with the consequences of his actions and HONESTLY everyone thought she was on drugs so it wouldn’t be crazy if she was institutionalized or in prison!
I feel really bad for her :(
Her life was practically stolen from her!!!

YOU KNOW THE DRUNG PART IS CRAZY CAUSE IF I KNEW MY BEST FRIEND (heavy emphasis on the BEST FRIEND) RELAPSED ID TRY TO HELP, but instead they just saw an vulnerable person "lean/take all her problems" on a guy and everyone thought it was okay, EVEN SARAH trash talking Nikki about her being "toxic" to bear , WHAT KIND OF FRIEND IS THAT????
Also the fact that NOBODY REALLY KNEW HER REAL RELATIONSHIP WITH HER FATHER????? AGAIN THEY ALL ARE SUPPOSED TO B BEST FRIENDS
by A_NovemberStrawberry; ; Report
Well they are clearly not best friends at ALLLLL, they are just a bunch of emotionally unstable and illiterate individuals!

I think what "made them" best friend was the fact that they were all working at Sarah's father's place, thet were so superfical exactly like Bear's "love" for Nikki, that MF really just looked at the physical aspect- he knew that Nikki was acting strange but since EVERYTHING ELSE was Nikki it was enough for Bear.
It really made me think of how men really perceive "having a crush on a girl", like they kinda only focus on just the physical aspect and not their personality, Bear never knew Nikki but he was attracted to her physical self, he found her challenging and she was kind to him (that's the first thing he says in the movie when he practice confessing his feelings with the waitress), men often think that a woman being kind to them is them flirting because they find the girl attractive and i think that said A LOT and realled was portraited by Bear in the movie

This is so valid, I haven't even seen the movie because of how gross just the trailer made me feel. I wasn't aware of anyone painting the guy as the victim, but oh my GOD that is DISGUSTING.
I think you should watch it it's really an incredible movie and imo a feminist one too, but also I get you not wanting to watch it
