For those interested, here's my recipe for homemade beef stock/broth:
Ingredients:
4-5 Cow knuckles bones
A lot of water
Salt
Directions:
1. In a large soup pot, add water until there's about an inch to the top of tge pot. Turn the heat to medium.
2. As the water warms up, add salt (if you want) according to your taste.
3. Once the water is boiling, add the bones. Cover.
4. Let things boil for about 5 minutes, watching to make sure things don't boil over.
5. Lower the stove top to low.
6. Set a timer for 30 minutes. When the timer goes off, check your pot. Give things a good stir.
7. Cover again and let cook for another 30 minutes.
8. Repeat steps 6 and 7 until your broth has cooked for three hours.
9. Add water to the pot as needed.
10. Turn off the stove, skim the fats and such off the top, and let your stock rest for 30 minutes.
11. Strain your stock and separate into Mason jars. Close up the jars, label them with Beef Stock and date, and put them in the freezer.
