BEEN BUSY!!!

I haven't been active on here for a minute because I've been pretty busy with school, moving, and just trying to get my life together. 😭 I got into CMU and I'm moving to Detroit for my physics major. I'm hoping to eventually attend Princeton for my junior/sophomore years and work toward my Bachelor of Science as well. I had an extra year anyway, so I'd rather get everything started now and hopefully have a career established by my mid-to-late 20s.

One thing I've realized is how lonely it can feel wanting to go into a field like physics. I genuinely don't know many people IRL who want to become scientists, engineers, doctors, lawyers, architects, etc. Most people I know are interested in art, fashion, hair, nursing, or other creative careers, which is completely fine! I just wish I had more people to actually talk to about science and careers in STEM because sometimes I feel like I'm talking about something nobody around me understands or finds interesting.

That's honestly one of the reasons I'm hoping to meet more people on here who are interested in physics, science, engineering, or similar fields. I want friends who can actually have those conversations with me. 😭

After getting my physics degree, I also want to get into software engineering because I think technology and AI are going to be increasingly important. I actually really like the potential AI has when it's used responsibly. It could be incredibly useful for science, medicine, education, organization, accessibility, and helping people who don't have the time or money to hire an assistant.

My issue isn't AI itself it's how people choose to use it. I don't want AI replacing artists, flooding the internet with slop, making deepfakes, creating inappropriate content, or being used to make important decisions for society without proper human oversight. I'd rather see AI developed in a way that's ethical, accessible, environmentally responsible, and actually makes people's lives easier.

And honestly, I think that's why we still need people going into STEM. We need scientists, physicists, engineers, programmers, architects, researchers, and other specialists who actually understand how these systems work and can build things responsibly. If fewer people learn those skills, we're eventually going to become overly dependent on technology without understanding the systems we're depending on.

Anyway, that's basically where I've been. 😭 Just trying to figure out college, my career, and what I want my future to look like. If you're also interested in physics, science, engineering, software, or anything STEM-related, PLEASE talk to me because I need more people to nerd out with. 💀

Also, I'm moving to Detroit for CMU to live with family until I found housing in fucking Pittsburgh 😔
