hello everyone ⸜( ´ ꒳ ` )⸝ for a week this summer i went to texas!! specifically around dallas. it sucked so so bad :3 it was for my grandma's birthday. my grandparents recently bought a house directly next to my aunt's house, which was pretty cool. unfortunately that was the coolest thing from the whole trip.
it was like a lil family reunion, considering i hadn't seen my aunt and uncle in years. my family tends to fight a ton, so i rarely get the chance to see them. (｡•︿•｡) last time we visited, i was w my cousins, younger brother, and grandparents for thanksgiving and we went to like 5 malls in the week we were there. altho i had expected to do more touristy stuff and less black friday stuff, it was still great! this time... not so much. (╥﹏╥) it sucked so bad. probably bc the lack of cousins and younger brother.
the thing about my family is that they don't like museums, everyone wakes up either really late or goes to bed super early, almost everyone is diabetic, and their idea of fun is sitting and watching tv. a bunch of older people basically.
the first day, we said we'd go to the stockyards (historical area with shopping and shows and fun stuff to do). we got ready and got in the car... before realizing we hadn't eaten yet. (ᴗ_ ᴗ。) i was the only non diabetic one there, so obviously everyone had to eat. we decided on the outback steakhouse near the neighborhood and took A WHOLE HOUR AND THIRTY MINUTES TO EAT. “(ノ _ <,, ) this cannot be real, i thought to myself. by then, it was too late to drive the ~1+ hrs to the stockyards, so we decided to go to the mall.
i'm a shopaholic so i thought "yay finally!! mall time!!!" in reality, we went only to the teeny macy's section of the mall before they got tired. (¬､¬) it was mostly stuff for older people, so i just kinda walked around for 30 mins before they decided i need a new bathing suit. there was a singular bathing suit rack, and only like 3 were actually 1) my size and 2) not super revealing. i did manage to find a cute bathing suit... but i hate. swimming. (*｀∧´) after this, we just kinda went back to the house and chudded.
the second day, they decided today was for sure the day for the stockyards. my aunt and uncle told everyone to wake up early to get on the road and beat the summer heat. so i woke up at around 8 am to wash my hair and eat. besides my grandparents, nobody else woke up on time. once they did get to the car, the exact same lunch thing happened. ಠ_ಠ UGH. we then decided to go to the aquarium instead, but it was closed!!! the aquarium was supposed to be super beautiful too... :(
the fourth day, we finally finally finally went to the stockyards. by this point, i had used up all my good outfits, skirts and dresses and stuff, thinking that i would go to the stockyards earlier. so i was in a t shirt and jeans in texas heat. great!!! the fact that every other girl my age was dressed up didn't bother me at all!!! i didn't even get any good pictures out of it (╥﹏╥) the heat made it genuinely so unenjoyable to be there... and what's worse is that everything in the shops was overpriced, so i only got stuff for my family back home and not for me. (ᴗ_ ᴗ。)
the rest of the trip went similarly. we literally did nothing except for go to the stockyards that one time... it was like they were edging me with plans we never fulfilled. we almost went to the largest mall in dallas... only for the lunch thing to happen again. i was so upset. the trip bored me to tears. i spent the rest of the time floating by myself in the pool or watching the tv they chose (boring game shows). when trying to connect w my family, all conversation of mysterious things would end. mind you... i'm 18 years old. i'm a grown adult. it's ok to talk about adult things guys ;-;. the only other highlight of the trip was my grandma's birthday. it was nice to watch her open her presents and have some cake too! :3
yay texas!!! yay wasting my time!!! sigh. have you ever had a bad trip? tell me ab it so i know im not alone LOL
