Canon the Dealers - Still Too Soon album review!!!

Cannon the dealers new album still too soon is a 7 track album about how a relationship can feel like a repeating cycle of negativity. This album uses a lot of great vocal effects and muddy instrumentals to convey different points. In my opinion this album is a solid 6.5/10. It constantly repeats the same theme but in a different form at some points I asked my self did I already listen to this song cause they all feel like the same thing with slight alterations throughout the whole album I do recommend you drop a listen but it’s nothing mind blowing

Good enough -

“I swear I tried to be the

best

oh how I wish i was for you”

this repeating line shows a lot of regret for his actions and the way the song runs, feels like a loop getting stuck in the same cycle almost. It’s super fun while being a tad bit sad so a solid 6/10 it’s not doing nothing crazy but it’s not bad at all

Over it- like the title suggest the author is over the repeating cycle of his current or maybe past lover and himself talking shit about each other and constantly not caring about each other and wanting nothing to do with each other and he even ends off the song with “Wake eat sleep repeat” showing how this cycle is almost like life’s cycle

This song follows the same format as the first one when it comes to the vibe but improves with raw vocals and harsher lyrics so a 7/10

Always the same - now this

song points another issue the singer has with his lover. They don’t stop pointing out flaws and problems in him. Everytime she does she tells all her friends. Even when he talks to her, his words get twisted and this cycle never ends. Like the title suggest he knows that it’s “always the same” and he’s tired he doesn’t want to be in this cycle. Now I wonder why is he still here yknow? Anywayssss

I’m leaving this a 10/10 the final part really resonates with me and I love the vocals and how he slowly loses his grip in the lyrics fire song

Said said - The song starts off with a repeating melody like most of the songs on this album but the vocals are hushed lowk and the vocal effects are so good on this album and I don’t think I’ve

mentions that yet but they really are awsome!!

But when he says the lyrics “leave me alone” it sounds like he’s out of energy and is close to crying.

This song is about how he fell into the thought that she could be an enjoyable person. But she in fact can’t and went  back to her same antics and for the first time in the album he speaks on something positive

he did and she still only nitpicks at his bad qualities and at this point he says “I would rather walk into oncoming traffic then have to spend another second of my life having to listen to what you have to say” in a spoken tone and it’s so revealing to his attitude towards the whole thing. This song is an 6/10 for me because like it kinda has the same vibe as the rest of the album and it’s lowk getting played out.

Get in the car - lowkey this song is finally starting to have me feel like maybe the singer is the problem rather then leaving the relationship he’s actively saying I don’t care how mad or sad you are or how bad whatever you have to say is just shut up and get in the car so we can go home. I guess from his perspective he’s again tired of hearing the same problems over and over again but it’s feelings that she keeps having over and over again and he wants them to be kinda invalidated in a way and he just wants her to drop them. It feels like rather then working through them our singer is actively avoiding them! This is showing a different side of him and I like the vocals and vibe of the song a lot so 8/10 !

On and on - now this song has a more like sad tone to it. But it also shows us how the singer feels as if his partner isn’t being straight up with how she’s feeling he feels as if she says she’s alright and then switches up on him expecting him to read between the lines and then when they finally talk about it it’s like everything in the relationship it doesn’t stop. This whole album is starting to be a story on how our singer feels basically worthless and like a huge problem to his partner and he cares so much about their relationship but it’s like it’s invalidated. I love the rhythm of the song but lyrics are kinda repetitive but I guess that’s the vibe but I don’t think it was done well in this song tbh so 5/10

Streetlights - aye I love the nod to the saying “when the streetlights come on you need to be inside” the song is basically saying that this is the end of the relationship and that all good things come to an end idk how he thinks this is a good thing but obviously he saw something. But this is the end of the relationship and album. The vibes of this song are immaculate and as an ending song to an album perfect buttt it’s very basic and lyrics are really not that great so I can only give it like a 4/10 !
