I am a Catholic. I have been ever since I was born, and my faith has remained strong.
When meeting people I don't really tell people I'm religious. If they ask i talk, but apart from that, I'm not shouting it out for the world to hear.
I am not homophobic. I am not transphobic. I am not against any of those things. And most Catholics (unless they are larping Catholicism and don't actually follow God's teachings) will love and accept all people even if they are part of the LGBTQ+ community and of other religions. I have friends who are part of the LBGTQ+ community, and I love them so much. Some of the best people i have ever met are LGBTQ (sorry if I'm saying LGBTQ a lot I just heard from someone that saying queer or gay is rude (and i also recon calling the entire community gay is kind of rude)) and I'm so glad I've met them.
Regarding spreading the gospel and God's word, Christian churches irritate me. I have had numerous bad experiences with those Protestant churches. My biological father is part of those churches, and I don't disrespect anyone who goes to them, but I find that when you jump from independent church to independent church, you have no grounding force. Additionally, there are many protestant churches that slander the Catholic church and other churches, and i find that extremely disrespectful and against God's teachings. Anyway i kinda got off track.. my point was; with people who are extremely pushy when spreading God's word, they are usually Christians. Some people spread the gospel in other ways but i just dunno. I mean i guess this is my way of spreading God's word but oh well.
Catholics don't worship Mary or the Saints. Mary and the Saints guide us to God. An incredibly large amount of Christians are convinced that we do. But yea, we don't. I mean the 10 commandments literally say that you shall have no idols before God so like, yea.
Pain and suffering: God is a good, loving, and merciful God. The pain caused in our world is caused by us. God gives us free will, else we would just be puppets. He is a loving Father (unlike my own :/) and he let's us do what we want because he loves us.
Forgiveness: Everyone deserves forgiveness. Yes people do bad things, but forgiving them releases the pain you hold. And everyone is capable of redemption, because no one is born a monster.
If my phrasing is bad plz forgive me I'm so freaking tired rn.
If you have any questions about Catholicism please feel free to message me/comment below. I am open for discussions, just know I'm not prejudice to anyone, and, as i already said, I wont be rude or disrespectful to you if you aren't Catholic. Also i might make a part 2 of this.
God/Jesus loves you. You don't need to believe it, but he does. He is always with you and he loves you unconditionally, no matter who you are, where you are from or what you believe in.
ciao ciao
