Chainsaw Man rant

hellooo, bora here (once more!)

Today I feel like talking about chainsaw man because it's basically the only thing going on in my brain. So I discovered chainsaw man with the 1st season of the anime when it came out in 2022, I really liked it obviously, I especially liked the fact that there's a new ending every episode. Some gems are in here btw (read Time Left, Fight Song, first death and DOGLAND).

And I think it was during summer 2023? i got spoiled about a huge thing in the manga so i thought "fuck it, I'll just read it, that way i can't get spoiled anymore", and so I had been reading it from then until march 2026.

I cannot express just how much I love this manga, it is easily my favorite manga oat, with some of my favourite characters in all of fiction (denji ml), it has brought up all sorts of emotions within me, addresses important topics, overall has a really good scenario and simply amazingly written characters. Fujimoto's artstyle, even if it was deteriorated in later chapters, is probabmy one of my favourite ones too (even if i might be biased on this...)

Anyway, I don't really know what it means when people say that a media changed their life, but I think that what I felt with chainsaw man is the closest to this feeling. And I haven't even talked about the movie yet.

Obviously i knew what was going to happen since i'd read the manga, but omg i wasn't prepared for the movie. I really liked the change in artstyle, which I actually prefer over the s1 style. The music was amazing, the animations, staging etc. was so good i almost cried. I still can't listen to the pool scene ost without my heart aching a little.

Now unto the difficult part: the ending. I'm not going to spoil anything, if you've read it you absolutely know what I mean. it was probably one of the worst possible endings for the manga, i even thought it was a joke while reading it. Months later, i'm still genuinely pissed off over what fujimoto has done with it, but i won't let this huge fuck up change my opinion on the rest of his work which is (to me) the best manga oat.

If you haven't seen/read chainsaw man, please do, you're missing out on an amazing piece of fiction, so give it a chance if you have the time!

Unrelated, but I'm going to a con soon where I'll cosplay as asa, so i'm really excited about that!! i hope I'll see some cool csm cosplays.

Anyways that's it, i just wanted to talk a little about csm since i love it so much (despite its ending...)
