Child vs Wife debate

I keep seeing people all over social media debate about which is more important for the husband to save; his child or his wife. This is my opinion on that.

I firmly believe that if it is during childbirth you should always save the mother/wife, when given the option, because the baby isn't born yet so the mother's life is more important. BUT once the baby has been born the child should always be saved. For example, if a man's wife and his 5 year old child are both hanging off a cliff and he can only save one of them he should save his child because the wife has lived more of her life and the child's life is just beginning.

I don't know if this makes any sense but thats my opinions on the topic I guess.
