when i was at my fathers memorial, i didnt shed a single tear

it took me months to even shed a tear, it just took a while for me to register that he was really gone. it had all came crashing to me one night reading through his old texts

out of all things that cannot be cookie cuttered, grief absolutely cannot be predicted

i am someone who cries over sad things or just is easily influenced by sad things, so. i have not been the many funerals and the few i have attended were years ago BUT i did cry at my grandfather's because it was just a very sad atmosphere. but from what I remember, a lot of people don't cry. I think it is easier to cry alone rather than in front of people but also there would be days before the funeral to cry and process it a bit, so it is less likely that someone would cry at a funeral if that makes sense? grief is different for everyone really

a lot of people don't yeah. some just don't process grief that way. don't worry about there being anything wrong with it, its perfectly normal. esp at younger ages too
