african american person here: i wanna touch on the "people using their irish ancestry tocompare themselves to african americans" bit because to be honest!! its literally white people in general doing that shit. "uhhh white people went through slavery too :(" american slavery?? in which the whole police system was set up to catch freed slaves and force them back into slavery?? which african americans are still feeling the trickle down effects of today?? where every aspect of what little culture they could claim afterwards become stereotypes used to mock them?? where literally every stereotype made about them to this day is a result of slavery?? where they were cannibalized, used as bait, and made into leather?? last i checked white people (yes, EVEN THE IRISH!!) didnt go through ANY of that shit. two kudos coming DIRECTLY your way. |
