no, at worst they might get more expensive japan still sells a lot of physical media, even small artist make cd's(even if only for a limited time...) also, if i remember correctly, cassette tapes are very important part of kpop culture so no way they are ditching those anytime soon... and a lot of other music has cd's deeply rooted in them it'll take WAAAY longer for to happen, some sort of crisis for sure |

Yeah I've seen a few people on YouTube talk about it, people who collect old CDs and old PS video games, I'm not sure if its only about video games or CDs in general

Now that you mention it, I do vaguely remember DankPods mentioning something like that in his CD collection video, but that was more lamenting streaming overtaking physical media in general, not that it's gonna go away by 2028. I think it'll still be there - there's always gonna be at least some demand, and these days CDs are pretty cheap to make en masse... well, fingers crossed.
