So I've used Character AI before. It does have a filter, but there's nothing to really prove that your chats on there are monitored. If you're just straight up having the usual NSFW roleplay, you're going to get filtered, or the bot will flat out decline continuing the chat until you change the topic. The thing, though, is that Character AI doesn't have as strict a filter on things like fetishes. A few terms for those things are banned, but the really weird stuff isn't that hard to find, and once you interact with one of those, you'll be recommended even more adult bots. I kinda fell into that rabbit hole a while back when I used it, but I don't know what it's like now, since it's been like a year or two since I actually chatted with a bot on there. Also, I've heard nothing about the site recently except for people complaining that the new chatbot is worse than the old one, so there's that. I don't really approve of generative AI anymore, but I suggest finding a different alternative than Character AI if you're really looking for a chatbot.

omg, i hope ur doing better now! i myself used to be addicted to character ai (before i knew about the harmful effects of gen ai) and it was horrible. it wasn't really a sex addiction, i just thought it was cool i could talk to "anyone" i wanted and make different first impressions.

its very easy to fall into the trap made by the creators of these apps. i personally got rid of my addiction by deleting the app and finding other alternatives, like actually talking to my friends, and socializing more. i also started exploring other hobbies more to keep me occupied.

i just wanted to share my past experience with anyone else struggling with this :3
