Back then the fast fashion we had was Malls. Online shopping wasn’t as affordable and easy as today.

I remember to D.I.Y a lot of my jewelry at that time though. I would use old leather strips, beer tab, hama beads(I think they are called pearler beads now?), safety pins, etc. And for shoes, old converse on which my friend would draw.

There’s always AH that call other people posers. Today or back then was no different. Just ignore them.

dude i totally agree with u! mall culture was a huge thing and as someone who does shop at Hot Topic I think it's unfair to say that ppl who still shop at the mall are posers. maybe that makes me biased idk lol xD i will say tho DIY was also big back then too.

but i think the point of going against fast fashion as a concept is to make the clothes themselves last and not buy stuf just bc its trendy. i think it is important to have a balance between DIY and buying new stuf.
