Maybe that's the case here (jk, fortune cookies must be tied to something from East Asian folklore to have got so popular, and eventually imported to America)

Horoscopes are very much tied up with religion and cartomancy practices, so I reckon it's a timeless taboo. I don't believe in narrow personality models, but there are definitely things astrology says that line up with me, so I suppose it doesn't really matter either way lol
