AS A FURRY ACTUALLY I REALLY REALLY LOVE THE KEMONOMIMI COMMUINTY.
everyone's always seemed very nice within the community. while personally not being someone who would wear the ears/tails in public I actually think its really endearing (?) seeing people dress that way? 
I say go for it if it's something you are really interested in! you won't really know if it's for you unless you try it ^^
