Addiction is an uphill battle. You will have days where you crave it more than anything and other days where you won't even notice it's gone. I will say, I'm so proud of you for recovering. Coming out of addiction is a very difficult thing and you're so strong for battling it.

I do recommend support groups, they will be able to share their stories and you won't feel alone battling the addiction. You'll also learn about skills and coping mechanisms for being able to battle the addiction. Support groups are great, even in recovery and when you aren't relapsing.

I would recommend, if you don't already have one, getting a therapist so they can help you battle the addiction. A therapist will be able to help you talk through the trauma of being addicted as well as being able to talk through the withdrawal and symptoms.

One thing I can say for sure, it does get better. Addiction takes time to overcome, but there is a light at the end of the tunnel and it does get better.

Just incase, if you would like to know more about addiction, here is a helpful National Institute Of Drug Abuse article that covers recovering from addiction.

I am sending you all my love and positive vibes, I am wishing you the absolute best.

thank you so much for answering and for your advise it honestly, it makes me feel a lot better knowing someone actually read that. I will be looking into support groups I don't think I can stand the idea of going back.

You're welcome! I am always happy to read through someones entire post and support them :D

Totally understand not wanting to go back to support groups. If you don't want to go back to support groups, then therapy would probably be best.

Therapy is also very beneficial because you can also pick and choose your therapist. You can do research, pick one that aligns, and as always you can walk away from a therapist if you feel they don't fit you.

I think therapy would be great, it'll feel less like a support group and more like a person supporting you and helping you along your journey one-on-one, which sometimes is what is needed most!
