Hi! I learned french for 5 years. I'm not at a level of mastery, but I can hold some conversations. i also stopped 2 years ago so i forgot some stuff unfortunately( •̯́ ^ •̯̀)

1) movies, tv shows and songs. these help a lot because you start understanding the accent, the speed of talking and what context certain words and phrases can be used in.

2)I personally took it more as a hobby which made it more enjoyable. I also got a french book which I read whenever I had time. I also had a few french songs in my playlist.

3) Unfortunately, for grammar the only thing that I can say is that you have to learn the rules. Soon it'll start sounding more natural to you just like how english grammar does. I also felt embarrassed at first, but it just takes time.

4)Try to associate words in spanish with images instead of english words. Like if you're learning a name of a color, look at the color instead of the translation. This will help you remember words better and you wouldn't constantly be trying to translate everything in english to understand what the person is saying.

These are just some tips that worked for me. It's different for everyone but I hope this helps even if just a little bit!
