Homeschooled is a memoir of someone who's mother wanted to keep him close/small and kept him home. The reviews would describe it as a toxic mom situation book (the dad isn't relevant i suppose). Its worth reading

OOH, sick! definitely will check it out eventually, hostage-y stories like that always fascinate me. and we've totally never ever done anything like that to our sims before, nope! not even once
