How do they justify privacy invasion in private property, though? By the way, there's an app called Nearby Glasses that lets you scan for meta glasses using your android phone or tablet.Β |

This is somewhat true yes but people film publicly all the time I mean if it was private property than yeah it can be illegal,Β but this post should be more on what flock does and U.S based companies do, know your customer shit should be illegal they do not need to know everything about you. |

This is so real. I am incredibly scared of AI deepfakes and even just being seen sexually and the idea of someone being able to record me and do whatever with the recording creeps me out so bad. I only got over my fear of phone cameras this year, meta glasses are a whole other thing.. especially because everyone has a phone, but itβs THAT type of person that gets meta glasses. Very suspicious and predatory imo.Β |

If you say filming in public places is illegal than any cctv cameras would also become illegal. Ring doorbells would become illegal since they can film past your property. Taking pictures of nature would be illegal. Good point! But none of those involve secrecy as much as meta glasses do they? |
I just looked this up:
"Approximately 65% to 74% of Meta smart glasses buyers and owners are male, while female adoption remains significantly lower"
Of course it's the guys! Because women actually realize it's important for the other person to consent being filmed even if the law doesn't require it
