Idk where you live cause it might depend on cultural background, but in the short 20 years of my life I haven't seen anyone treating this as the norm. Actually, I think it's pretty much the norm to shame people who had more than a single partner, aside from a high school crushes. I know maybe two real-life persons who had multiple partners (2+) in a relatvely short period (year or two years). One-nighters definitely happen, but they're generally not considered the standard relationship.

As a note, it's not a bad thing to opt out if your relationship turns out not to work. Sometimes people can be good friends but terrible partners. Sometimes you can only later in a relationship realize that one of you is toxic. Sometimes it's healthier to let go early than to push through for the sake of bearing it.
