i personally have a hard time understanding, i could probably comprehend a portion of your perspective(not in a bad way ok i really like this) 

i don’t know, i guess i don’t exactly see much wrong with wanting to customize your house, but maybe that’s an understatement to a different problem you want to address.

i think i do get the part where we participate in incessant consuming to make us feel happy instead of redirecting that energy into something actually beneficial

I absolutely agree with this, im a high school student so I don't have a j*b but what I hate to see is people following trends not cuz they like it but because it helps them "fit in".

I don't blame you if you listen to a trendy song or buy a trendy outfit once in a while cuz you like it, but changing your personality is a different story, I don't want to see millions of the same person with the same interest talking about the same thing. I want you to differentiate yourself from the rest, hence why I love the quote "living by the fear of being average". 

If I had gone by that living standard long ago you wouldnt see me expressing myself freely like this, I wouldn't show my love for a franchise simply because its not "in right now" or hide it because I might be "judged".
