Crazy Conspiracy Theory I Have

I originally posted this on SpaceHey, but am posting here for additional exposure:

Before anyone takes this too seriously, this is just a fun conspiracy theory I came up with. I have absolutely no evidence that any of this is true, and I'm not claiming it is. It's simply an interesting thought that crossed my mind.

What if An (of SpaceHey fame) has actually been approached by the current owners of the MySpace property to help with the brand's upcoming revival?

The thought came to me after noticing a few things: An hasn't publicly posted an update about SpaceHey in months, and hasn't even logged in for over two weeks as of this post. At the same time, he's been active on GitHub, suggesting he's still writing code as recently as this past week.

Meanwhile, SpaceHey itself feels like it's entered more of a "decline" phase. Temporary anti-spam measures have remained in place for years, the profile picture bug is still unresolved, and moderation has shifted almost entirely to AI. None of this proves anything on its own, but taken together, it gives an impression of overall apathy/disinterest.

Then there's the upcoming MySpace revival.

If it were up to me, I'd want someone who has already demonstrated they can successfully recreate the classic MySpace experience on the team. An would seem like an obvious person to at least have a discussion with over a beer or something.

Does that mean it happened? Absolutely not. There are plenty of more realistic explanations for his absence: He could be busy with work/school, focusing on other projects, or simply just taking an extended break from SpaceHey due to burnout. Hey, we've all been there.

Still, it's a fun idea to think about!

If my theory somehow turned out to be true years from now, I reserve the right to come back to this post and say, "I knew it!"

Until then, I'll file it under "probably not... but wouldn't that be interesting?"

Feel free to share your thoughts below!

Oooo that is a cool idea lol, I also agree that it's one of those "probably not but fun to imagine" ideas but you never know¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Tho I heard somewhere that apparently the new MySpace revival is being done by some AI Data-farming corporation called "Viant Technology" :((
