this probably counts as sadism or masochism (or maybe both), but games that allow your character to die realistically or literally tell you "suicide is an option" are the most fun.
for example No More Room in Hell, you're not immune to the virus, firearms are have very little ammo and if you don't have phalanx or gene therapy it's best to keep a bullet to yourself if you don't want to turn into a runner
hell even Casualties: UnknownΒ falls into this, the simple fact that cuts can become infected, you can suffer brain damage, drown or even harm yourself if your mood is low enough is special in it's own way, the realism on both cases is annoying since you'll be constantly dying without making much progress, but the minute you get even an INCH further than your previous run feels fulfilling for some reason.
