Crypticon

This weekend I went to Crypticon with my friend and their mom. We dressed as Pyramid Head and the Bobble Head Nurse from Silent Hill (And we won the group costume contest!!). I got to meet so many cool people and so many people wanted pictures with us! I also got to meet Kathleen Kenmont, Garetta Garetta, and Zack Ward! I got to talk to Kathleen Kenmont about her time on set during Bride of ReAnimator and she told me that it was hard on her mentally and emotionally, like having to sit for hours to get face casts for the scene where the Bride falls apart or when having to go through and act out the Bride's feelings as well as Gloria's. She also said I should be prepared for going through tough emotions and feelings when taking acting classes and being in productions because you have to face those feelings to get a better grasp of your/the characters feelings and being able to portray that on stage/camera. After the costume contest I went back to Zack Ward's booth to tell him we won (Because when we talked to him before he said that he was confident we would win) and I got to talk to him about acting and filmmaking! He recommended using Davinci Resolve for editing (Which is free btw). He said to improve both acting and filmmaking you should study what you like about your favorite movies and try to recreate those scenes. Though your recreation may not land like the original it is important that you try to figure out why it doesn't work. He also recommended essentially making YTPs, taking a scene and changing it to something entirely different (His example being "Darth Vader Being A Jerk"). All in all, I had a wonderful time at Crypticon and I can't wait for next year's convention!!!
