curren chan shrine

i LOVE Curren chan, she is one of my favourite character of all time. I discovered her when i started playing umamusume back in july/august 2025 and instantly fell in love with her design and even more when i got to learn more about her ! 

Who is Curren Chan ?

Curren chan is a character from the game umamusume: pretty derby. She is one of the many colorful and cute character you can train in the game but is by far the cutest of them all (litterally !). 

"When you think of "cute," you think of Curren Chan, and when you think of Curren Chan, you think of the selfie goddess boasting over 3 million followers on Umastagram. Realizing just how adorable she was from the moment she was born, she's used her natural charm to bend her parents and seniors alike to her whims. Thanks to that, she is able to climb the social ladder of life with ease. To show everyone just how cute she is, she now aims for the top of the Twinkle Series."

She is based on her real life counterpart : Curren Chan. (IRL) Curren Chan is a japanese racehorse who was one of the best sprinters of her time ! She was born in 2007 and active from 2009 to 2012 and is now enjoying a lovely retirement. Funfact ! Curren Chan's name come from her owner"s daughter's name Karren-Chan ! 

Curren Chan is known to be a very nice horse to ride (unlike many who also have a counterpart in the franchise) she is said to be "a horse as cute as a doll". 

Why do I like her so much ?

First of all, I adore Curren's design ! Cute characters easily win my heart and she did too. Her color pallet and racing gear are so well thought out, I love the chocolate brown used in her design so so so much. I find that it's such a unique decision to have her wear this color when she could've easily been put in a pink dress and call it a day. I know that her colors are primarily inspired by her racer's silks but still !

Moreover, what's not to love in Curren Chan ? She is an influencer but strives to be the cutest uma the world has ever seen. This might seem superficial at first, but to her being "cute" is not just looking cute, it's a whole mindset. Curren strives to inspire others and to bring joy to everyone around her. And that's what I admire so much about her. She works hard for her dreams and is diligent in everything she starts. She is just so amazing to me. I strive to be like her, to be kind to everyone around me and bring joy in people's life.

While my collection is pretty meager, i do want to expand it ! I hope  that one day i'll be able to make an ita bag of her, i'm just too scared to order online on jp fans gulp
