dessert icing

i really want to decorate some sugar cookies with icing so they wont be too boring but i REALLY HATE ICING?? yep sorry its not something i particularly like the taste of,,,,,
but anyways my dilemma is that since im no gordon ramsay i dont know any alternatives to icing.... do i use whipped cream and pray it doesnt melt before i finish decorating??
