I recently saw Disclosure Day in theatres and I don't think I've ever agreed with a movie this much.
So some background about me is I'm autistic and my special interest is politics and psychology and I typically don't agree with most movies because I just see it as propoganda. Like if there's a big budget behind the production the capitalistic agenda usually makes it's way into the plot and even if I enjoy the movie typically my favorite part is disecting the propoganda behind it and most people see that as hating even tho it's not, that's just how I best enjoy the movie experience.
Anyway Disclosure Day was so awesome to watch because usually when watching the movie it there are parts that they put in becuase the audiance wants it and then there are parts that they put in because the gov wants it and this movie perfectly balanced the two and not in a way that tries to hide the propoganda among the good. It did it in a way that really made me think it was trying to do something great for the people. You can tell when watching the film it's not made with the intention of being just another way for people to "destress."
People enter a satate of exhastean from overworking that leaves them vulnurable to influence, which when paired with the mindset that one should always be consuming leave people to seek out content as a form of relaxation even though it is not actually relaxing it is simply the method of justifying the overworking state that they live in and that justification makes them go back to being agents of the system and that is how entertainment keeps people complicit.
Anyway this movie does something I've never seen another movie do. It speaks to the viewer as a sentient being who is capable of dismantaling the system and that's exactly what the movie asks for. It really is a revolutionary film and I don't say that lightly.
Anyway go sail the seven seas for this movie it's really good. The movie theatre getting pissy at my 9 year old brother for switching seats half way through cuz his seat was squeeky even though the movie thatre is mostly empty completely killed the vibe and also really reinforced the need for a movie like this to be seen by as many people as posible becuase most people's comlicity in a system that doesn't serve them is kinda annoying.
