I've been thinking, and we've survived thousands of years without AI (in the sense it's used today), yet some people now "need" it to go about their day. Why?
Why strip your life of what makes it worth living? What are you going to do when AI does everything for you? Lay down and die?
A common excuse to use AI is because it saves time, sure it does, but with that time you probably want to/are expected to do something else. Imagine changing your activity to something else, but AI can do that for you as well, so you change your activity again, and could you believe it, AI does that as well, and it just keeps going. What's the point?
Makes me think of a classic Swedish TV series called "Lycka till", at least in that one they finally realised that streamlining everything comes with it's disadvantages, and what was originally meant to just be an aid to a human, quickly completely replaces it.
In a world with billions of people, why do we need machines to do the things people can do? And if we make machines do everything we can do, what are we expected to do instead?
