I usually prefer games that lean more into paranoia rather than action and guns, but I am also into action horror! Dark Deception has a lot of "action". I noticed some more obscure Japanese horror games lean into paranoia instead of guns and a bunch of chasing like most mainstream horror I feel like, correct me if I'm wrong. So if anyone has any suggestions let me knowย

this is a bit of a top of the iceberg one, but have you played Corpse Party yet? itโs a rather paranormal storyย

also apparently this game has a movie, whats up with japan and making movies based off small horror games. happened 2 other times with ao oni and death forest ๐ญ๐ญ

PLAY HOMICIPHER OMGG- itโs one of my fave Japanese horror games I love it so much I was even one of the ghost last Halloween ๐ญ๐ญ just a warning tho like if u actually play, the creator literally had to stop making new chapters because the fandom was so bad <\3 so like if u research the game and see a bunch of freaky shit I promise you the actual game isnโt like that ๐ญ๐ญ๐ญ

Omg indie games r like that too tbh I recommend any chillaart studio and taintedpact games and the one n only fears to fathom ๐ฅน I think chillas art is Japanese so if u haven't heard of that one u should totally check it outย
Also japanese horror games aren't the only games that lean into thriller/paranoia psychological themes...๐ญ
Thank you thank you!! I'll definitely look into it more! Also the reason why I ask for Japanese specifically is because I like the style of japanese horror with like pale-faced monsters and what not, instead of large grotesque bloody dead by daylight monster. I am aware some japanese horror has those monsters but i do prefer the style that most obscure japanese horror has. games that lean on paranoia in general is really cool though but im lookin for a style yknow lol
