drawing in the dark

new habit: sitting on the floor with my diary, sketchbook, and computer with me with the lights off while drawing some band member or artist or whoever is on my computer screen. i put on live performances and try to draw the person i'm watching. at mcr san antonio, i drew teri gender bender who was singing with the mars volta (i didnt draw mcr because i was too busy having real fun and not nerd fun) and thats definitely where it started. i am not even a "real" artist anymore ever since i kinda quit drawing after junior year (i switched to photography on a whim and it is now my life), but i think what im doing is pretty good and i have a unique art style again. its better than the faces i was drawing in high school actually. there's real soul in it even if getting faces right is hard and neither of the george clantons i drew look like george clanton.
