He is a good director, I'll give him that and he knows how to make a fun movie. At one point he was my favourite director until I realized that all the women are really male centered and bland. Even when they appear to be complex, it's really just to make them feel interesting on the surface. I just watched Shaun of the Dead and while I did enjoy it, it still doesn't stray away from this pattern. This isn't really a hot take, anyone could catch on to this. I do know he made a movie, Late Night in Soho, were the protagonists are women, so i still hold high hopes that Wright can do a good job, even if he had to hire a woman to help him co-write the story. Even if he doesn't, I can still expect some really great cinematography.

Are you going to kill him bc of it?
If he does it again, maybe lol
jkjk It'd just be nice to watch a movie of his where the story doesn't fall flat because the second it focuses on the women, there isn't much to really care about, which shouldn't happen if they are so important to the male character's arc. Still love his movies though, I'm a sucker for action-comediesÂ
