engaging with only one type of medium will unfortunately make you a shallow person

im not saying that having a favorite medium is bad, but i feel like people who only engage with only one type of medium are often very shallow people. to expand your tastes, to improve yourself i believe that one has to engage with many different types of art and as such see many different interpretations of different topics. love for an example, its a really complex feeling but each medium explores it in a different way. if one were to just engage with films, they'll only know how films interpret love as a feeling so their idea of love is limited to only what they see in films if that makes sense.

i think this can stretch to academics somehow, if someone engages with only STEM subjects for an example and only knows things within their own field, they'll eventually have a really limited mind and therefore appear shallow as a result. humanities as well, i believe that we should engage with both humanities and STEM equally regardless. being well-rounded is good
