literally what happened to people talking about their OTPs?? like talking about normal shipping, not problematic shipping n stuff.
it used to be so joyous talking freely about my favourite ships (mostly in anime lets bfr) and now everything is like controversial this problematic that... like OKAY its good were becoming aware of concerning stuff but guysss its not all or nothing.
regular shipping is not problematic! and yes obviously stuff like byler etc is super popular but compared to how it was (specifically in anime) like 5 years ago? ITS DIFFERENT. okay.
and of course now on the internet everyone is saying 'to be cringe is to be free' etc etc but its nottt the level of 2020 'cringe'. im not saying 'bring back 2020 yayyy!' but GUYS! this is tame compared to who we were back then. (genuinely though i am NOT pro bring back 2020, just some of fearlessness we felt back then has been lost i think)
when was the last time i saw someone talk about their anime otp. maybe im just sheltered but i best be hearing fights over bakudeku vs kiribaku soon or. or. i dont know.
maybe its because ive hit the age of feeling nostalgic.
dont come at me, just talk more publicly about your favourite anime ships, jeez.
also i forgot to add that people online were generally just less judgemental about that kinds stuff and being 'cringe'. everyone was doing some wild stuff back then and despite the current trend of being quirky and weird, everyone is still hella judgemental now. maybe thats it. the shipping talk hasnt quieted, the bullies have just become more abundent.

honestly the whole 'to be cringe is to be free' thing feels so annoying and hypocritical sometimes since people only seem to say it about stuff that they deem acceptable and when someone's cringe outside of the 'acceptable cringe' way it's suddenly different if that makes sense?? and the definition of what's cringe or not is constantly changing too like with mlp i've noticed it's suddenly cool to like it when my friends were being bullied for being fans before it became like a mainstream-ish thing to like (i have no idea if this makes sense im just rambling lmao)
like if you're going to advocate for being cringe then stick to it!! don't suddenly switch up when someone's cringe in a way YOU don't like
right!! and yes i totally get it with the mlp thing as well. yeah the whole trend rn with tiktok and stuff is like being alternative and weird but then if you dress a little TOO extreme or ACTUALLY embrace the subculture or like things that are actually not mainstream and popular etc etc, then youre too weird for the so called 'weird' people

Cringe is stupid word but ,always people gonna judge so do what you like. Like anime was cringe before but today are really popular. Tcg in some countries like my ,people call you child grow up if you collect but in other countries is normal thing . Emo ,goth ,in my country those people probably getting bullied 😔 but other countries is normal fashion,. If people thing cringe for things you like just you know you are wrong pleace and wrong people.

yes i agree cringe is a dumb term, thats why i put it in air quotes. and definitely with what youre talking about with bullying people for their subcultures, which is totally more serious. but yeah, it reallly just depends on who you are surrounded by. the internet is particularly bad with that.
