First steps in UI

Hello again! I'm continuing to develop my own messenger, inspired by the aesthetics of ICQ/AIM/Yahoo! Messenger. My first results are these rough sketches of the UI design. I created them in 30 minutes in Photoshop, and tomorrow I'll start implementing this graphical interface. I've nicknamed it "NUI" (Nostalgic UI). I've attached a photo of the prototype below.
