why are modern metalheads so weird about nazis/racists or general shit people in metal?

i saw a post the other day discussing reek of the unzen gas fumes (whom if you don’t know you need to check out asap) and then everyone in the comments wasn’t idk discussing the music, instead they were all ridiculing op for bringing up a band that uses nazi(ish) imagery

like bro

if you’re gonna ridicule amazing music like reek, arghoslent, or anal cunt on the basis of moral superiority maybe metal isn’t for you 

and like why are you so upset at these bands but don’t hold the same accountability for bands like metallica, pantera, storm troopers of death, etc etc

it’s just a bullshit double standard because people don’t like when extreme music is extreme

and on the flip side of this coin i see so many genuine bigots and neo-nazis taking this and using it as examples to conceit themselves in the ideas that “the left is violent and pro censorship” or like “keeping extreme metal extreme means making it as bigoted as possible”

and at the end of the day noone here will correctly understand the nuance of anal cunt and it pisses me off beyond belief
